phillips hdr112 boot up problems
(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)
Posted by: sgt mike
I have a phillips hdr112 that I would like to use as a vcr but my problem is that the unit seems to be stuck in Tour of TIVO Central with no apperant way of performing a setup or "prepare for customer". This unit appears to be a demo unit which may not have a complete software loaded on the drive. Anyone have any ideas ???? The fact that TIVO uses linux would make this extremely hackable I know. But my lack of linu knowledge does't help. I used mfstools2.X CD trying to mount the tivo drive no luck.
computer config:
bootable CD
TIVO Drive in RACK MOUNT hda (primary)
any suggestions would help or a place I could obtain an iso of the orginal software for the hdr112.

You can also call TiVo customer support for help getting it out of demo mode.

There's a thread on this here:

You basically have to call TiVo and subscribe at which point they'll give you the method to get it out of demo mode, or re-image the drive.

And TiVo offers a 30-day, money-back-guarantee, so if you cancel your subscription within 30 days, you are not out any money.
