Refurbished or not refurbished

Hey everyone. Last summer I got scammed, not once, but twice on ebay! Each for $200. Luckily I got my money back from the credit card agencies.

Anyway, I'm finally ready to attempt to get a TiVo for good now. My friend has one and I love it to death. I'm planning on putting in a 60gig second disk and marrying it to the original drive.

If anyone has a used unit they want to get rid of, contact me. I really can't shell out the big bucks for a new and my friend tells me I shouldn't by refurbished for more than $110. I'm just looking for the 112 model. Let me know if your guys have any comments or suggestion where or how I can get a TiVo for around $100 - $150.

Thanks!

I've bought two refurbished units from www.ubid.com.

I think I paid $139 for the first one and $129 for the second one. Shipping will run about $28. Keep in mind that sometimes refurb units have been know to be dead on arrival. The first one I bought from Ubid was dead. I had to send it back to Phillips for warrenty replacement. The second one was fine.
