Altering the Bash Prompt

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I've just installed my new Turbonet card and got everything tunning, but I'd like to change the bash prompt to tell me the current directory. I know just enough Linux to be dangerous, so I know I have to edit the .profile file to do this. Can anybody tell me what command to enter?

Edited to add one more question: Does anybody know if there's a way to password protect the BASH login? I'd like to be able to get to it from work, but don't want EVERYBODY to have acess to it...

code:
export PS1='\w \$ '
Use '\W' if you want to display the basename of only the current directory instead of the full path.

Thank you VERY much, Stickboy. Any idea about creating a login password?
