Has anyone used Symantec Ghost or PowerQuest PQDI to backup or clone a Tivo drive to a larger Hard disk? I have a HDVR2 and will be upgrading my drive to at least a 120MB drive as soon as the final software update gets sent and I sort out all the info on the quietest drive. I see the instructions for using the Tools disk, but was wondering why the 2 mentioned packages could not be used as I use them for PC OS backup and cloning all the time with good results.

I tried using Ghost 7.0 with the -IA (image all) switch and it would not recognize the tivo drive as a valid source. I ended up using DD. Worked like a champ other than I had to watch the lights (patiently) to figure out when it was finished.

PS: If you are waiting on the final update for the HDVR2 you could be waiting for awhile. Has anyone seen it yet? Remember we are 2 levels removed from Tivo. 1. Hughes 2. Directv.........
