Ok, this is FUNNY - (Warning: Replay bashing inside)

I'm not going to reveal the post (you can search for it if you want), but on the Replay forum, I found this post (emphasis added):

"I use my Replays quite heavily, the 5160 has been up and running for nearly 2 weeks without any problems. "

Does anyone else find that hysterically amusing or am I just getting even more cynical than I thought?

:D :D

It's not even a full two weeks, it's a nearly two weeks as if this were a record or a milestone.

Ha, that is funny! Here is my personal record: 225 days of uptime (between the 2.5 and 3.0 software updates my TiVo never went down!).

Impressive. I think my personal best is about 70 days. I usually end up messing with the thing and getting it to panic somehow.

Hmmmm, does the HDRV2 have an uptime count, I don't specifically recall.

I can't believe the cruddy reliability of Replay's online web scheduling feature the Replay customers try to deal with. Since it was first released, it seems this thing is something that can't be counted on very much:

Sometimes My.ReplayTv.com's servers are down. It happens like once every few weeks or so for a few days.

Hopefully Tivo's remote scheduling feature will be more reliable!

MrBigglesworth, go to the System Information screen, under Messages & Setup.

IIRC, the Uptime field only shows up when backdoors are enabled. Also, I'm not sure, but I think the HDVR2s should have version 3.2. If that's correct, HDVR2 users can't enable backdoors and won't be able to see the Uptime field. Regardless, for non-3.2 boxes, see http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-v...&threadid=26530 for how to turn on backdoors.

I think I remember this post form a few months back (?) In Replay's defense (If it's the same one) that particular poster is someone who is heavily into Replay hacking, and was referring to how long it had been running since the last hack.

The original quote is from a post 2 days ago...

Of course, from everything I've seen, the new Replays have scheduled reboots (some every 2 days, some every 5-7 days). So the "2 weeks with no problems" doesn't mean it has been up for 2 weeks.

Yes, DaveLessnau is right, you need backdoors enabled to see the uptime. Presently the backdoor code for HDVR2's (and any TiVo running software versions 3.1 or 3.2) are unknown.

Yeah, sorry about not mentioning that little fact, MrBigglesworth. I forgot that the uptime display is only visible when backdoors is enabled, and that it's apparently not possible yet to enable backdoors with the HDVR2's.

My uptime never gets that high, because it seems every three months I'm tearing apart my living room and moving everything around... at least this time it's for a front projector!
