Where the heck do you buy a 40 hour Tivo?

I can't find one locally anywhere. 60's and 80's are all I can find. Obviously I want the 40 so I can upgrade it myself with a nice 120Gig second drive. I would like to buy locally so I can test it out for a week or two. Even on Tivo.com it lists stores and they all are 60 or 80 hour? What's up with that?

You've already figured it out on your own - they only sell the 40 hour model direct. If you want to buy a TiVo in a brick & mortar store, you have to choose from the 60 or 80 hour version.
I have no idea why this is the case. I can only assume they'd rather sell the items with a higher profit margin through retail channels and save the cheaper model for online bargain hunters.

Hehe, if that's their rationale, somebody needs to be fired.

I suspect the reason has something to do with that AT&T box.
