Local Time Warner adds video game network on digital cable

Just in case anyone looked over it like I did originally, my local Time Warner has added channel 124 on Digital gabel with is the G4 network, and it is all shows related to video games. I haven't had a chance to watch any shows yet, but I have already found they have no guide data so there will be lots of duplicate recordings.

I'm really starting to love this channel. Yes, they have a non-tivo friendly description for each show but few of them actually repeat very often at the moment.

Shows that have popped out at me that I enjoyed enough for a high priority season pass were:

Icons - It is a VH1 "Behind the Music" style look at some of the video game industry's legends of the past such as Sid Meir and Will Wright. They also have a few episodes that just take you behind the scenes of some of the latest games but those don't appear as interesting.

Portal - This show is hillarious (or at least to me.) It is a cross between Mystery Science Theater 3000 & Space Ghost: Coast to Coast with a MMORPG spin. Basically they use MMORPGs such as Everquest, Anarchy Online and Dark Ages of Camelot to act out silly little stories voiced over by a few select folks. it is tied together with a MST3K "Joel-type" character named Dave.

I'd rather have Techtv, but I'm stuck with G4, as I think Comcast has a stake in it.

Yeah I enjoyed Portal. I also enjoyed Game On which they were in court but I don'tknow if they will always be in court.

I just discovered TechTV on DirecTV the other day and am loving. I wanted G4 since I first read about it but I have a hard time supporting anything that helps Comcast.

:D Well, if DirecTV offered it I would watch it. I'd feel guilty though.
