He says they are new machines not refurbs

Thanks for that! This being the UK Tivo Forum, we had no idea  :)

Why the sarcasm, Carl - he was just saying where there's some stock????

Hi tkwish, and welcome to the forum.
My friend also ( just before Christmas ) bought from CK with no problem.

I would if I knew of anywhere. Although I'd be more likely to post the details in a relevant thread rather than starting another one; as happens almost daily with both this topic and the "Thomson To Stop Making Tivos" thread. Not to mention the numerous "Tivo Going Out Of Business" threads :)

Or the "how do I upgrade my tivo" threads ;)
Although, it is quite scary to think that if people actually read the FAQ or occasionally clicked on the search button just how many threads would be left on this forum!!!

Wouldn't worry about those. The search is cr*p since it just returns loads of long meandering threads full of posts such as 'why don't you try the search facility', that take forever to read through. :D
Ian.

Huh? Has the search started defaulting to 'by post', rather than 'by thread'? Just looked in there and it does for me.
Or was that sarcasm flying over my head, again?

I'm quite upset by the lack of smiley there. I think I'm better at offering advice and helping people when I can :)

Shall we start a poll? Is Carl better at helping or being sarcastic?
No, just winding you up mate. Lots of us have appreciated your numerous tips and advice.
Like you, I find it disappointing to have to repeat advice time and again because new threads are started rather than existing ones scanned.
Having said that, I've been guilty myself. Suggest it's because:
a) list of threads shown is by default for "last 24 hrs" only [could be "last 14 days". Reduction in duplicated threads would mean this actually not too long a list]
and b) search facility is too vague [dozens of barely-relevant threads returned]. Maybe improvement / clearer guidance possible.
Anyway, how could one criticise Carl for sarcasm when there is x.x.x.x on this forum!?
