Simple Ugrade?

I would like to use a very simple upgrade procedure to expand the capacity of my TiVo branded 40hr unit with new large drive to replace the existing drive (which I will keep as a back-up). I would also like to preserve my current recordings. After reading Hinsdale's How-to and many posts on this board, I think the following will work:

1. Remove original TiVo drive and install in PC as secondary master and new large capacity drive as primary master;

2. Boot up PC with mfstools boot-up disk in the a: drive and confirm that the readout shows full capacity of the new drive;

3. Enter the following command:
mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdc | mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda

4. Remove drives from PC and place new large drive in TiVo and power up.

Am I missing anything or will this do the trick? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

I'd have to recommend taking a compressed backup too, but what you propose will work fine.
