IDE cable for Sony SVR 3000

Does anyone know where to get an IDE cable for the svr 3000 ?
I want to add a second HD. I have tried an ata 100 cable but the distance between the two drives is about 2 inches to short. Has anyone had any luck turning the cable around ? Anyone who has had success please respond.
