report: SA series2 60hr replace with single samsung 120GB drive

Just hoping this might help someone else doing the same thing.

I had gotten the error "Restore Failed: Backup target not large enough for entire backup by itself" when using this command:

mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hda | mfsrestore -s 511 -zpi - /dev/hdb


Looking closer, I see my Dell PC recognized the new 120G Samsung as only about 33G, so yes, too small.

It was a problem with the jumper settings on the Samsung. (Had I RTFM that came with the drive, I woulda caught it.) It has different M/S pin settings for > 32G, and I was using the other ones. Using the right ones (for > 32G), Dell BIOS correctly recognized the settings, and linux recognized the samsung as 120G, and all went (is going) well. (We're at 4.37% right now...)
