Greetings:

I have a 2x 120GB Series 1 SA (Phillips HDR-112 @ v3.x) that reports up to 246 hours of available recording time at basic quality. It reports 67 hours at best quality.

My 2x 160GB Series 2 Combo (Hughes HDVR2 @ v3.x) reports up to 243 hours of available recording time, no quality level is shown.

What gives? Even if I discount the 160GB drives to 137GB, reflecting the IDE limitation, I should still have a little more recording time on the HDVR2, correct?

What quality level is used by the HDVR2? Can I change it?

The DirecTiVo units always record at best quality. They record the signal from the Satellite feed directly with no encoding in the box because the feed is already encoded.
