Now Playing List delay on upgraded HDVR2? or 3.1 in general?

I originally posted this in the DIRECTV Receiver with TiVo forum.
Here's a link to the thread over there, but I thought maybe I should be post over in the Underground Playground to see if others are seeing this same problem?
How long does it take for your upgraded Tivo (I have a dual 120G HDVR2) running 3.1 to display the Now Playing List?
When I'm watching live TV or playing a recording for a while and try to bring up the Now Playing List it takes 25 to 45 seconds(!) to finally display the list. During the delay, I just have the clock with "Please Wait..." in the middle of the screen.
Is anyone seeing as extreme of a delay as I am?
I have had two similarly upgraded Philips DSR6000 units and neither of them exhibit this long delay. It takes a second or two to display the Now Playing on my DSR6000's regardless of what I was doing before trying to go to Now Playing.
I have the audio drop-out problem as well as the DirecTV menu glitch but other than that it appears to be working fine. I mean I'm recording lots of stuff and watching them without any other strange problems during playback.
One thing to note is my upgraded DSR6000's haven't taken the 3.1 update yet.
I deleted a all of the suggestions on my HDVR2 (drastically reducing the amount of recordings) and now the Now Playing List only takes about 10 seconds to come up. I wasn't sure if I had some buggy recording that was causing the delay or if it was having 150 recordings in the Now Playing List (it's now down to like 75 recordings).
Not sure if this is a problem with my particular unit, with upgraded HDVR2 units in general, or with the 3.1 software on a machine with a lot of recordings.
Anyone have any ideas?

I just upgraded my HDVR2 with 2 120GB drives. I've been using it for two days now. It's running 3.1 and just takes a couple of seconds for the now playing list to come up. I am having the audio drop-out problem.

Sorcerer, Right now I would assume that the number of recordings was the problem. My dual-120 Tivo is still trying to fill that space after three weeks and Now Playing has been getting noticeably slower.
