I received my new replacements from Maxtor. I already DD'd one of my 80Gb in my HDVR2 and it works beautifully and is much quieter. I am looking for advice for my DSR6000 I am about to work on. I have a 40Gb and a 80Gb drive that I added in Feb 2002. I will be replacing these with their RMA'd replacemnets as well.

Should I DD both drives or do something else because I am sure my swap file is smaller then what can be made using the current software? The reason I ask this is because the DSR6000 is a little sluggish. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You can't expand your swap without losing recordings - where would you find the extra space?

Swap doesn't affect the speed of the TiVo. Extra swap is only needed for a TiVo with more than 150Gb (180Gb for a DTiVo or Series 2) of total disk space.
