Survivor 6: Amazon

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: JediCowboyD

Looks like this time around it's the Men v. the Women.

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tm...survivor_amazon

And Jenna is already my favorite -- Occupation, Swimsuit Model.

http://www.cbs.com/primetime/surviv...rof/jenna.shtml

Who better than a model for Stuff Magazine to survive 39 days in the Amazon?

This should be interesting. The men's team features a Rocket Scientist, while the women have a swimsuit model, and a deaf teacher.

Survivor: Amazon premieres Thursday, Feb. 13 at 8 PM ET.

Thought maybe this thread should have that info.

Doesn't my TiVo do that for me already? TiVo watches the time, *I* watch the contestants.

From the picture I've seen of the Rocket Scientist, he looks like a guest star from "Dude, where's my car". :)

Finally! We got some people from Missouri on here! Heidi is from Eldon, MO (same place as Sheryl Crow) and Janet is from Manchester, MO (about 5 miles from where I live...sweet!) We already have a swimsuit model, and Heidi was formerly a sales rep for a lingerie company. This season is going to be awesome!

I certainly hope that the men vs. women thing isn't the "big twist" they were promoting.

Posted by: SammyTerry

Some of these people's luxury items make no sense to me at all and some of these might work against the contestant.

Alex = Finisher Medal: 2001 Wildflower Triathlon
Butch = School Banner
Matthew = High School Wrestling Jacket
Jenna = Zeta Crown
Rob = Dog Tags

Well the Men vs. Women thing might make it interesting.

I wonder how long it'll be before they switch tribe members around, if at all.

Posted by: Grumpy Pants

All i know is that I hope this season is better than last... I don't even know who won.

Posted by: Skittles

I can top that. I know who won, and I still didn't care. I wasn't rooting for *anyone*.

Wasn't it The Hedgehog?

As I read that, I was thinking, "Well, of course, the winner was...", and I couldn't remember who won. It took me a while to remember the winner.

I heard that the woman who teaches deaf kids is also deaf herself.

Might not be true, but it would certainly make for great dynamics...lip reading, figuring out how how to ally with her, etc.

Posted by: vertigo235

Jenna has my Birthday!

Posted by: pmyers

How on earth are they going to incorporate a deaf girl into the show? This should be interesting.

Apparently it is true. Her bio page at CBS's website confirms it. They also explain that "her primary motives for being on SURVIVOR are to promote awareness for the deaf…and win $1 million."

Posted by: TivoDaddy

Already, I think Heidi is the cutest! :)

I have a fried who works at JPL in Pasadena. I'll see if he has any dirt on Dave the Rocket Scientist.

The heck with the deaf Survivor -- Jenna is still my favorite! From her Bio page:

If she wins the money, she wants to buy a car and put a huge sound system in it, chrome wheels and detailing.

Now if you can't get behind that goal, what the point of watching!?!?! :D

I love Pennsylvana Women!

anyway, word is that in the first two rounds, it's the guys that get the boot. i wonder if they changed the challenges to make it slightly less physical...

From the above link:

Is that Helen from Survivor Thailand?

Posted by: cello

Carebear, can you please spoilerize your spoilers, or perhaps start a topic that has spoiler in the title? Thanks

I think that's Jeanne. Look at this photo... looks like she's in the same outfit. However, the angle of the photo that you reference really looks like Helen.

If it is endurance versus brute strength, females will usually win.

If that were true women would be on par with men in distance running and cycling and the like, they aren't even close. Unless they handicap the challenges or take the physical nature out of it the women won't have a chance.

Handicap? A group of Alpha-males doing a "group" challenge isn't handicap enough?

After letting a professional-actor (Ok, he was soft-porn but he's still got an advantage over non-actors) win the last one, I wonder what "hidden" traits the next winner will have...

I don't know about you, but I am pulling for Christy, the Children Adventure Guide for the Deaf.

Posted by: betamax

I'm just glad it's not filled with people from Texas. They talk funny ;)

Posted by: Pie_People2

The old people better lose early this time. Another season of watching hanging loose skin and i am done with the show.

This show needs to have all younger single people. running off into the jungle and hooking up...this is what America wants to see.

they dont want to see old cooks like Jan barrying dead bats.

Was that not my inspiration for this thread?

Posted by: okleydokley

Oops, Sorry.. I found this link on another board, and instead of starting a new thread I though I should search for any existing Survivor threads. I guess I should have also read the existing threads...
Nice shots by the way...
