I'm having an issue someone might be able to help me find the answer to. I've had the problem for a while now and I never paid attention to it until now. I think I had the problem prior to mbm's serial patch but I can't be sure.

When my TiVo reboots I have no control with the TiVo remote once myworld finishes it's startup. Tivoweb telnet etc... all work but no response with the TiVo remote. The workaround I have found is to hold down any of the TiVo remote buttons as the unit starts up until after the welcome screen appears then I have full remote functionality.

Has anyone else experienced this problem without any modifications to the TiVo or know what possible mod could have caused this unfortunate side effect.

using the serial hack huh?

try restarting the cablebox when that happens, the tivo may be stuck waiting for a response

(original thread lists commands which can be used to turn the cablebox off/on at startup for just that issue)
