TiVo in a Timewarp!

My upgraded TiVo froze up yesterday and I had to power it down. It hung on the "Powering up..." screen for about 5 mins then appeared to boot OK.

When I checked the logs I saw some unfamiliar messages - one about the DMA being in a "strange state" and another saying the clock was "warped" and would re-sync in 300 seconds. There was also an entry that simply said: TIMEWARP!

Anybody seen anything like this?

I hope my new drive isn't on it's way out....:(

it might just mean that the clock is wrong, and it wants to reset it on the next daily call. Try to make a call and then check the tclient log for the bit that says "about to run: /bin/ntpdate"; if there is an error nearby it didn't sync the clock. If not it worked ok. Then see if the "timewarp" message appears in the future.

There are a few funny messages in the logs. Eg "This one's goin' down!"

Thanks MrT,

The /bin/ntpdate command seemed to work OK so it looks like my TiVo is back in earth time again :)

Still a bit nervous about the freeze though - thank God I've got a spare now  Maybe I should get a spare 120gb drive too and do another backup? No, hang on, this is getting silly - I think I'm getting obsessed!:D :D
