SA Tivo with Charter Cable

My father in law who currently has Charter digital cable (San Luis Obispo area) tells me that a Charter customer service representative told him that Tivo will not work with their digital cable boxes. I told him I think Charter is lying - has anyone in this forum used a Tivo with a Charter digital cable box?

I have Charter digital cable and I didn't want to deal with the cable box and the IR blasters, but I hooked up the normal cable to TiVo. You could go that way if you wanted. I don't think the extra digital stations are that great anyways.

Big surprise, but Charter doesn't know what the heck they're talking about.
You can *absolutely* use TiVo with theirs or pretty much anyone else's cable service.

The people at Charter don't know anything. I used to live in San Luis Obispo, and you wouldn't believe the crap we went through with them over cable modems. I have a friend who uses a TiVO with Charter digital cable in SLO, so I'm sure it'll work for your father in law.
