New image to new HD?

I downloaded an new image for my SVR2000 and burned it to a cd. How do I get the image from the cd to my new HD? Do I just fallow step 8 of Hinsdale's guide? My computer has XP on it so I burned the image to use on a computer with WinME.

Man, it's been a while since I've done this...but I think you just restore the image (yes, step 8). Follow the instructions for XP (but I would just pull the XP drive out, and make the TiVo drive the primary/master..I think that's how I did it last time..you may need to change some jumpers on the drive and parameters in the restore: it'll now be "hda" instead of "hdb" - see below).

hda = primary IDE/master
hdb = primary IDE/slave
hdc = secondary IDE/master
hdd = secondary IDE/slave

That didn't work. it says /mnt/dos/tivo.bak: no such file

That's because you (probably) mounted the primary/master drive (the new TiVo drive) as "dos". Try mounting the CD-ROM:

mkdir /mnt/cdr
mount /dev/hdc /mnt/cdr

(note: that's if your CDROM is the secondary/master..if it's the secondary/slave, then replace "hdc" with "hdd")

Then restoring the image from the CDROM:

mfsrestore -s 127 -zpi /mnt/cdr/tivo.bak /dev/hda

Let me know if/how this works...
..
(if anyone thinks I'm wrong, PLEASE let me know..I honestly haven't done this is a while)

ALSO: you burned the TiVo image as a "tivo.bak" file on a CD-R, right? If you renamed it, just replace the "tivo.bak" line with whatever you named it.
