Jimmy Kimmel Live (official thread)

Surprised that there hasn't been any discussion on the premiere episode, other than complaints from Orlando that it wasn't being shown.
What did everyone think? It wasn't a train-wreck of a premier since it did show some promise, but there were a few rough spots. It almost seemed like we had a couple of guys sitting around not sure what they were supposed to do with the new TV show they'd be given. Kimmel tried to keep to the script and get things flowing, Snoop seemed uncomfortable for the most part, which certainly hurt the show since Kimmel's strength is to play off of others. This "guest host for a week" could be a disaster if Snoop doesn't pick it up. I'm sure a lot of viewers will be tuning out as the week progresses if his major contribution continues to be "flip the bird for the censors". Maybe they should've rotated guest co-hosts for the first week to keep things fresh.

I wasn't able to catch the premeire due to schedule conflicts... I have noticed the previous listings for the show are now gone from the guide data. Is it DOA already?

I totally agree about Snoop Dog. He did absolutely nothing for me. The show is a major work in process. I thought they may have more video bits ala Letterman and The Man Show. Too much of the show consisted of the Cold Play concert. They took up more than 12 minutes of a 60 minute show - I'd rather see more comedy. It will be interesting to see how the show evolves over the next few months. It will need to get alot better for me to make it regular viewing like I do with Letterman.

I guess I'm the only one that liked it. For those that missed it Kimmel was funny as always and having Clooney, Snoop, Warren Sapp and Coldplay on your premier isn't too bad. Agreed though I think the guest host for a week will eventually go. Just give the job to Adam Carolla or Ben Stein and be done with it.

I wasn't familiar with Kimmel to begin with, never watched the Comedy Central show more than twice, but I think he's a terrible host. He just doesn't know how to chat and connect with people. He also made quite a few un-PC comments last night. A lot of hosts can get away with that but he left me with a bad taste. He also didn't seem to know where to look - down at the table, left, right, everywhere all at once.
Watched a few minutes tonight and it seemed a little better.

I tuned out after the first 10 minutes. I just didn't find xenophobic/racist jokes that weren't even funny at all entertaining. And Snoop was a big turnoff.
Maybe it got better after the first 10 minutes, but I'll never know or care.

I think Jimmy Kimmel was Ben Stein's sidekick on "Win Ben Stein's Money" until he left and was replaced by the woman, whose name I never knew. I liked WBSM, but I really wasn't a fan of the Man show (which I also think Kimmel was on along side Adam "whatever his name is" from MTV's "Love Line".
I definitely wasn't that impressed by Jimmy Kimmel Live. Snoop is not someone that I really care about. Clooney, well, I don't really care about him either. I thought the whole "let's see what they can [bleep] out or [ABC logo] out was childish and frankly has been done so many times that it's not funny anymore. Since I don't like sports that much, the football player didn't do it for me either. I like Cold Play, but frankly I'd rather pop in the CD and listen to the songs that I like.
I guess Koppel's comment that it was garbage tainted my opinion. :D Not that I like Koppel or anything, actually I don't like Koppel that much, but I expected the first show to be more. I think I would rather see "Up Close". I did like that show.

I love Kimmel on Fox NFL Sunday and The Man Show was somewhat entertaining although it got old pretty quick. I was going to record the premier just to check it out but after the post-game show ran until 11:00, I figured it just wasn't worth it try and pad enough to get the whole thing. From what I've heard, I hope he didn't burn any bridges at Fox.
And this is what ABC replaced Bill Maher with.......

I enjoyed the first show, but I have been a Kimmel fan for awhile now. He definitely seemed nervous and maybe a little tipsy since it was Super Bowl Sunday!! :)
I watched Monday's show this morning before coming to work and he seemed more relaxed and there were a few really funny bits. What's up with the bands though, first Cold Play, then Five Cent? What age group is this show shooting for? Both are 18-24 year old style acts, since I'm 41, where's BRUCE?!!
Another reason I hope the show does good, because Boston's own Sports Guy is one of the writers. The Sports Guy, aka Bill Simmons used to write his own web column regarding many Boston sports and general stuff, and was very funny and always right on the money. He then hit the big time and is writing for Espn.com's Page 2 and ESPN Magazine. Now he's a left -coaster leaving his beloved C's, B's, Sox, and Pats behind to work for JKL...but he still graces Espn.com one or two times a week!
Posted by: hughvh
I don't think Jimmy makes a good LIVE talk show host. The stuff he did on Fox and Comedy Central is funny, but rehearsed. I believe Jimmy is lacking in the improv department.
Posted by: flyersfan
I haven't watched Monday's episode yet, but I thought the premiere got old real quick. My wife, who was only half-paying attention, thought the same thing. Snoop is a lousy guest host, and Jimmy needs a lot of work as the host. Did he ever figure out when to look at the camera providing the off-center angle?
I won't pass judgment right away... after all, he's got the Sports Guy and Joel Hodgson on his staff.
Posted by: T-Veaux
I guess as confirmed last night. it has already been yanked from the cable lineup here. Even though TiVo was set to record the episode per its guide data. There were no more shows listed in upcoming episodes. It still attempted to record but came up with Divorce Court and Celebrity Justice instead.

Okay, first off people, it's not Cold Play. It's Coldplay. One word. I'm seeing them in concert in 6 days. Also, I've never heard of Five Cent. I didn't watch the 2nd show, so I'm guessing you ment '50 cent'?? Coldplay is not a '18-24' band. My mom (55 yeard old) really likes them, and they have fans of all ages. Anyone who watches TV anymore should know that it's all about the young demo. Advertisers (for better or worse) want shows that cater to a young demographic, so that's what shows do.
Anyone thinking Jimmy Kimmel isnt PC enough shouldnt even be watching this show. He's never been PC, and he never will. That's why some people like him. Don't judge a talk show on 2 episodes. Conan was horrible for pretty much the entire first season, but I think he's the best right now. It takes time for a talk show to find it's niche and rhythm.

I think you're right cynthia, he doesn't know how to talk w/ his guests. He's all over the place & can't seem to stay on one subject. I cut him slack Sun. night, but after watching Mon. nights show I don't hold out much hope.
John Stewart would have been a MUCH better choice. He knows how to interview people and how to improv.

The only reason I watched is to see what the hype was about.
I agree, he seemed to be lost and his supporting cast were of no help.
If this is what we can expect as the future of Talk Shows, then the genre is doomed. Me, I'd rather watch reruns of Larry Sanders then this guy with very little talent.

I wish I could pipe in with some witty responses to the premier Jimmy Kimmel Show, but, alas, I can't......
Freakin' WFTV is not showing it!!!
....and because of the weird dma regulations....
It's Illegal for me to watch it on an "out-of-market" station!!!

Cold Play, Cold sore, tomato, tomatoe, who cares ...the point was the first two days musicians, were for the "younger" set. Older people may like them, but that does not mean they are in their demographics. I have a 14 year old son who listens to typical 14 year old music. I like some of the songs, but it does not mean I am going to run out to see their concerts. When I say 18-24 year olds...I was basing it on the crowd. Jimmy even said "these KIDS have been waiting all day to hear Coldplay"...and the crowd for 50 Cent, (that one was a typo) was definitely a young crowd from what I made out.
Yes, TV networks cater to certain demographics but if I am correct, the most coveted age bracket is the male 18-35 group. Not sure how many 35 year old men are going to be hip-hoping to 50 cent! The weird thing is that while the music acts for the younger crowd, the guests, i.e. Al Michaels, George Clooney were at the higher end of the 18-35 bracket (ok, Al is at the high end of 40-65 end:D )

Saw a news article that said that they were taking the bar away from Jimmy and his audience...

It's not in the line up for Orlando. So, it's back off the air here?
Posted by: jsmeeker
I don't understand how people say "so and so would be a better host". How exactly?? The show is "The Jimmy Kimmel Show". Having John Sturat host The Jimmy Kimmel show would make no sense. The idea was to give *Jimmy* his own show..
If he sucks at his own show, he sucks, and it will get cancelled. If you get a "new host", then you are creating a new, totally different show.

It's definitely not illegal for you to watch it on another station over the air, assuming your antenna can pull it in. (Back when I was in college in Evanston, Illinois, I'd occasionally eschew the Chicago NBC affiliate and watch Conan O'Brien on Channel 16 from South Bend, Indiana, which came in surprisingly well on warm, clear nights.)
Now, it may be illegal for you to trick DirecTV into giving you the "wrong" locals or whatever, but that's a completely different issue.

Yes! I did! But I bet is was a bit fuzzy for Jimmy and his guests (including the "deep fry" lady!! That goat's milk had them schlocked! Shocking!

I only got around to watching the first (post-Superbowl) episode last night. I thought it was okay. I'm not sure why so many here thought it was so bad.
He's clearly a little lost, but I that's to be expected. Overall, I thought he was much better than Leno (who I find to be completely bland since he took over Tonight; he was so good before that). On the other hand, I don't think anyone will ever top Letterman in my book, and I think, based on his Playboy interview, Kimmel feels the same way.
I'll keep watching.

Yeah, are you in NC? Apparently it's NEVER been shown here in Charlotte. They show Divorce Court and Celebrety Justice, the very first night they showed a rerun of Cheers. How stupid is that?
I'm guessing it's the same reason they tape delay Kilborne till 1:07, too many rednecks wouldn't watch it :( Instead they show paid programming every night.

Anyone still have the drunk episode? I'd love to get a tape of it.
I've really enjoyed Snoop D-O-double-jizzle f'shizzle dizzle. His yard sale was hee-haw-larious, and I love how he violates expectations.
Plus, I love the constant cocktail ;)

Actually, there were some great articles that came out when 'Politically Incorrect' first got on the air about the dirty little secret of local broadcasting: anything that airs after a strong late local news program is ratings gold. It really doesn't matter what it is -- and one of the arguments is that folks start falling asleep and end up leaving their TVs on the same channel.
Because the local stations control 100% of the ad time for an old 'Cheers' rerun, but would only get a fraction of the ad time for a first-run network show, it's financially more attractive to run a locally-controlled show immediately after the late local news, even if the network show would produce higher ratings.
Here in the Dallas/Fort Worth market, the ABC affilliate waited over 15 years before ever showing 'Nightline' in its expected timeslot. ('Entertainment Tonight' was the perennial post-news program, and the channel made a buttload of cash from it.) Even when they finally gave in to network pressure (Ted Koppel was seething for years about how his show couldn't get aired at the correct time in a top 5 market), they still wouldn't run 'PI' back-to-back with 'Nightline' -- 'ET' had to get in there and deliver the cash.
Hell, an established show like 'Late Night' on NBC (first with Letterman, now with Conan) still wasn't being aired in Houston until sometime past 2 AM Central (last time I checked). Conan even came to Houston to do a segment about it.
In the end, unless the affiliate has already inked long-term deals for network programming at fixed times, they'll fight tooth and nail giving up those lucrative timeslots.
Posted by: vertigo235
I'm sure you're right, but I still like the Redneck idea better :)
The real odd thing is that they dont even delay Kimmel, they dont show it at all! I dont care much aboue Kilborne because TiVo takes care of it for me, but I'd be pissed if they took it away alltogether.

This is one reason the networks would like the younger Powell and his FCC gang to eliminate the 'concentration of ownership' restrictions currently in place: if they did, the networks would move in and buy up every affiliate in every major market. That way, they could completely control when its shows were aired, and insure they never got pre-empted or delayed.

Not only did Conan go to Houston for that segment, but then over a year after that, he then had a contest between the two biggest local Houston advertisers to see which one's spokesperson would get to come to New York to be a guest on the show. The guy from Gallery Furniture won because the sample commercial that "Late Night" kept showing had him taking a chain saw to a mattress.
As a result of that shaming, I think the Houston affiliate has slightly improved, and it's now something like 1:05 Central (which is still a 90-minute delay). It apparently isn't a local decision, but rather comes from the company that owns that affiliate, because the other NBC affiliate they own, in Detroit, also delays Conan.

Nor will I. And even Entertainment Weekly says it's "appoinment Tivo" worthy. The funny thing is, Tivo makes "appointment TV" obsolete, so that remark struck me as odd.

On Monday's show, Tammy Faye Bakker appeared live from Orlando to introduce a bizarre remote she did from a regional Mensa get-together there. She was standing in front of some satellite dishes, so I assumed she was out in back of the Channel 9 studios, and they were providing the uplink to ABC. I was hoping they were building to some kind of shaming of that station, but they didn't mention anything about it.

Well, I canceled my Season Pass for this stinker. I honestly wanted to give it a fair shot since Bill Simmons, a pretty funny writer for espn.com, is also a writer on the show. The humor is occasionally funny, and I don't have much interest in most of the guests and music. If this show doesn't get canceled, I may try watching it again at some point.
On a positive note, I saw Jolene Blalock on the show for the first time as a non-Vulcan. She is very attractive as a real person. :D

I think we just need to give the show some time. If any of you remember, Conan's show was god-awful for its first year and a half or so and he really has come into his own. I think that Jimmy just needs to work on his interview skills. He has definitely improved in the two plus weeks he has been on and there have been some great bits like the hip hop spelling bee and Kathy Griffin as the cookie hooker. The show also has the best presentation of musical guests of any late night show.
It also looks like the guests will be improving...next week we will get to see Laura Linney, Emanuel Lewis (watch the surreal life...hilarious), Jamie Kennedy (who has one of the most underrated and hilarious shows on TV), and best of all JENNIFER GARNER. Additionally, next week's co-host will be Jeanene Garofalo. Beyond next week we will see Vince Vaughn, Jon Stewart, and the unintentional comedy that is Don King.
Don't give up hope...this show has much potential. It's not doing poorly either...I think we have a keeper on our hands in this one.

Kathy Griffin was a good guest host. Adam Carolla was a good guest host this week. Jolene Blalock was a good guest. But most of the other guest were not very interesting. I only enjoyed 1 of the musical guests.
And Jeanene Garofalo will be guest host next week. I don't need to listen to her political big mouth.
So, I am using this as an excuse to cancel my season pass.
I am really sad that Jimmy has this show. I wish he would never of stopped production of the Man Show.
Posted by: Justin526
Fear not, there are still quite a few new Man Show episodes with Jimmy and Adam that Comedy Central has yet to show. I am not sure how good the show will be when they start showing the new version hosted by Joe Rogan. He's a funny guy, but I don't know if it will work out.
As far as JKL is concerned, the guests will get better with time, as they have been.

I have yet to hear of any eps being available on the net, but if I do I will post info immediatley. It's crazy to me that ABC can't get that show to air in Orlando of all places. ORLANDO. Insane.

I caught the first episode where Janeane Garofalo co-hosted. After not watching the show for a week or so, I noticed that Jimmy seem a lot more comfortable and at ease. The banter between his staff announcer and the sax player didn't seem as forced as before. I guess I'm saying I agree with those above who say "give this show some time."
Is it true that NBC told their stars not to go on his show? He mentioned that last night and I didn't know if he was joking or not. NBC stars go on Letterman, right?

NBC wouldn't let its stars appear on ABC's celebrity editions of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" (Conan O'Brien was one person who was affected by this), so I definitely believe they'd put a ban on "Jimmy Kimmel Live."
Posted by: fmowry
Apparently ABC has put a ban on their stars showing up on JKL too! Funny how Jimmy has been showing clips of all of ABC's stars showing up on Leno yet he can't get any guests from his own network.
Frank
Posted by: grins
Bonnie Hunt was on, so was Andy Dick. 'Life with Bonnie' and 'Less than Perfect', two abc sitcoms.
Posted by: Justin526
It is very true that they have networks have pulled some of their stars from being on Jimmy's show. Fox pulled Bernie Mac at the last moment. CBS pulled Patricia Heaton (the wife from Raymond) and then, on the same night she was scheduled to be on JK Live placed her on Kilborn. Crazy cut throat business.
Oh well, it looks like things are looking up. At least they can get guests from their own network and appartently the WB as well.
Tomorrow night (Friday) Jennifer Garner is on and then on Monday Lauren Graham will be on the show. I think that he'll be getting the other networks' stars pretty soon.

And he and Leno were friends up until that point. I think they have since patched things up because Leno came on his HBO show.
Anyway, I think JKL is getting a quick introduction to the "business." I have noticed that guests sometimes seem to have some ties to the guest host - Jeanene Garofalo was on Larry Sanders with on of the Mr. Show guys. I think they are counting on the guest hosts to pull a few strings to get guests as well.

Saw the show tonight with jennifer garner and I have to say I found it entertaining. He has come a long way from his first shows with snoop dog where it seemed like he did absolutely nothing the entire show. I don't know if it was staged but I found it hilarious how he wouldn't let Riche Eisen sit right next to him because he wanted jennifer to sit there. Seems like he holds nothing back and will say what he's really thinking. Love how he showed the ABC execs who were there to make sure he behaved when interviewing jennifer garner. Just feels like he's really trying to do his own thing rather than the cookie cutter late show setup. I'm looking forward to Don King next week.

Doesn't anyone remember Letterman in the old days? He sometimes made Michael Moore look like an amateur.
The stuff with Jennifer Garner revealing she had a crush on Janeane Garofalo (and JK's coming out of commercial, telling the audience the two were "giggling like schoolgirls") has shot to one of my favorite late-night TV moments, and shows the benefit of the "rotating co-host" thing!
:D
Also really liked the "I could be James Garner" throwaway. Wonder if it was scripted.
Posted by: Dubbadown
Yeah, last night's episode was really good. I'm sure the James Garner line was improvised, it wasn't too hard to think of. Anyway, I've been Tivoing JKL since the beginning and I think he is really coming into his own. I really like how they do the musical guests, with the alternative rock stuff outside and the rap guests in the club style atmosphere. Also, did anyone catch the comedian Howard Kremer the other night. His standup was so-so, but the "Nut Valet" rap?? HYSTERICAL!!!!! My favorite line from last night's episode was when they were showing pictures of the "celebrities" from "I'm a Celebrity, GMOOH" to random people on the street to see if they could identify any of them. Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
And this one girl actually said, while trying to identify Tyson Beckford, "I don't know, I don't know black people's names."
You just can't make that up people.
Posted by: Justin526
Like I've been saying all along, he's really improving. Friday night's show was perhaps the best hour of late night talk show TV I have seen in years. It was great when the 10 year old girl struck him out with that 37 mph breaking pitch. He is comfortable, getting better with the interviews and most importantly not afraid to say anything.
I too thought the "nut valet" was terrific. The rest of Howard Kramers routine was pretty lame, but that made me laugh uncontrollably.
He's also getting some good guests recently. Looking forward to Lauren Graham on Monday.
FOR ALL OF YOU WHO DECIDED NOT TO WATCH AFTER THE FIRST/SECOND WEEK, I STRONGLY SUGGEST YOU GIVE THE SHOW ANOTHER SHOT.
edit: corrected what I found to be terrible grammar, sorry

Yeah I definately think guest hosts are influenced to help get friends on the show. I am sure the main reason why Colin Quinn came on was because of his friendship with Janeaene.
As for the booking wars, it is ridiculous. What does Fox gain by keeping people off Jimmy Kimmel Live? And what do any of them gain actually?
It is short-sighted at best. Although it is good to see Jimmy has managed to get a few good looking girls booked. So that is a good hold-over for the time being. Without good looking girls Craig Kilborn's show would not be on the air.
Guess they could not get Janeane to do a co-host bit of the week. Snoop did a video or two, one on Friday. Kathy did the hooker one on Friday, Adam did one every day, it seems, but Janeane did nothing.
She was really not a very good co-host. She didn't contribute anything. Even the intro segment where she just talked with Jimmy were pretty much a waste.

Well, next week's guest host is Don King (?????). Should be interesting I guess. Where do they come up with these guest hosts anyways? I think they should stick with Snoop myself.

For those of you who, like me, live in Southern California, you probably already know that Jimmy started out as "The Sports Guy" on 106.7 KROQ several years ago.
I was surprised to later see him on "Win Ben Stein's Money", amused to see him on "The Man Show", but then shocked to see ABC give him his own talk show "Jimmy Kimmel Live".
All I can say is, Good Luck Jimmy! You're gonna need it! Many talk shows are short-lived (can You say "Joan Rivers, Pat Sajak, Chevy Chase, Martin Short, Alan Thicke, and Magic Johnson"???)

Dave....This makes me wonder why "Italian American Superstar" Mike Piazza has yet to be a guest on the show. :)

Wanted to throw my hat in the ring on the negative side. Won't be watching it again. Kimmel was great on The Man Show, but he can't cut the mustard against Letterman / Leno.

Clearly you didn't see last Friday's show; it was much better than any single hour the horribly boring Leno has ever staged and better than anything that the awesomely talented Dave has done in a while. Truly funny television. I just don't get how people can even be into Leno, you can see his comedy coming from a mile away. He's so predictable and bland.

Leno has never been entertaining as a late night talk show host, and Letterman can't cut the mustard against Letterman. Dave has long ago passed his golden age in Late Night Talk. And while it was a great era of great stuff, it is long past, and his show is barely watchable now.
Conan really picked up the mantle at some point, but in the last 18 months or so I have not found him quite as entertaining.
I am really enjoying Jimmy Kimmel so far. And I give him a lot of respect for doing his show live. It is an hour from start to finish. There is no editing and no do-overs. See Jay or Dave do that for one night, let alone every night.

OK, did anyone else see the Lennox Lewis pillowfight in which he had the whole cake (which was in the shape of Anna Nicole) thrown at him??? That was priceless. I like how he dumped a whole piece of cake right on top of Jimmy's head. Good stuff indeed!

Just watched the episode with Vince Vaughn, TaTu, and the lovely Monica whatsherbucket from the Bruce Willis movie and just have one thing to say. Actually two, the first is "Hubba Hubba." And the second is, "Will someone tell Don King to shut the f**k up for 2 seconds and let Jimmy run his show. He absolutely ruined the episode. Inviting everyone to the fight this weekend and rambling on and on about absolutely nothing. Thank god the week is almost over.

I'm still fuming that I'm being chased to (shudder!!, for several reasons) cable or OTA to watch channel 2 from Baltimore to see J.K.L.
WJLA in DC is still airing crud and bottom of the barrel syndicated pablam in the post Koppel time slot.
I've seen a few of the J.K.L. episodes, especially the Jennifer Garner one (which I went out of my way to see). He has his moments, and so do his guests.
I'll agree 100% with the *truth* that he's many times better than Jay Leno. Leno is absolutely *horrible* and should have been canned when Dave Letterman was making the jump to CBS.
Letterman was definitely hitting on all cylinders shortly after that jump, and he occassionally flashes greatness again, but for the most part, he's a ghost of what he used to be, and I wish he'd get it back together.
I like what I catch of Conan, but don't go out of my way to find him normally (even when he's re-purposed the next day on Comedy Central). I'd definitely take him over Leno's (borrowing someone else's very correct term here) bland-ness.
I just really wish that WJLA would get their heads outta their posteriors and clear J.K.L. to air - even if they went for a much later broadcast. At least I could use the DirecTiVo to catch it and watch it next a.m.
Makes me wish all the more for some 'significantly viewed' rules to go into effect for Satellite viewers so that I'd get Baltimore along with my D.C. locals.

Here is a question... How long before someone doesn't panel?
Used to be a staple on talk shows, but over time the guests became too self-important and people almost never panel on Leno, Letterman etc. Doesn't happen almost at all.
I think this is one of the best aspects of JKL, that you get all these guests sitting there together. Hopefully because the show is only an hour, they can keep most people on board for the duration.
But I imagine at some point someone is going to show up who decides they have to leave after their segment (so busy those hollywood types :) ).
So how long before someone bolts from the couch?
As for Don King, i agree that it would be nice if Don King shut up once in a while, and I actually think Vince Vaughn got him to shut up when Jimmy interviewed that actress.. But I think Don King made the entire week hysterical. Jimmy intentionally did not try to rebuff Don King, because his antics were just too funny most of the time.
Watching Jimmy try to interview Robin Leech ("as the first person kicked off the worst reality show ever"), over a satellite-delayed feed while Don King wouldn't shut up was just too funny.

I am not sure. I think that Jimmy has a way of keeping all the guests involved rather than focusing entirely on the last guest to be introduced. Although I try not to watch The Tongit Show in order to maintain sanity and the appearance that I watch quality television, I do notice that Jay Leno's guests often panel. On the other hand, it seems that is almost NEVER the case with Letterman. Another thing is how the show is run...the fact that a guest knows that at the most they will be sitting out there for 40 minutes helps (seeing as it is live). Additionally, given the fact that viewers know it is a live show, an early departure might be conceived as rude unless a reason is given on the air. Add this to the fact that the atmosphere in the studio is WAAAAAY better than in the other late night show studios and you can get the guests to hang for a bit.

Oh yes, one more thing.....
This week's guest host will be Sarah Silverman. Should be very, very funny. Those keeping score at home can try to keep track of the various groups that she offends with each word she speaks.

Looks like a one week season pass for me. I love Sarah Silverman.
I don't think Letterman has ever paneled. Maybe very early.

I suppose that would be the case if you don't consider either Molly Sims or Rachel Hunter hot.

I hope Sarah Silverman is better than she was on Bill Maher's first HBO show. Not very funny. Jimmy's had Adam (his sidekick) and now Sarah (his girlfriend) as guest host. Who's next, his mom? Or how about his ex wife? That would be funny. I like the show, btw.

Ahhh...this answers my question then. Jimmy asked Sarah if she was dating anyone. First she says "some faggot" jokingly of course, but then she said he is on TV nightly. I now know it's Jimmy Kimmel.

I really like this show. I think Jimmy gets more comfortable with each show.
It doesn't bother me that he has close friends and family on the show. Just means that he's networking and using his contacts. Now if he starts to repeat co-hosts soon that might be a bad sign, but for now it's very entertaining to watch.
And Sarah Silverman is beautiful. I'll be happy to watch her co-host all this week.

Rerun tonite according to Jimmy last night. Pre-empted by whatever the news show is that it follows.

Wow, this show is either on or off. Last week was not all that great but last night's show was amongst the funniest things I've seen on late night television. Did anyone else get the chance to see the Suge Night interview?? It was hilarious. I loved the fact that Jimmy wore a Kevlar Vest for the duration of the show...funny stuff.
One more thing....Jeff Ross was excellent as co-host. Damn, he's funny. This week is definitely going to be one to watch.
Posted by: millertivo
And last night's episode with the Trey Parker and Matt Stone and the guy from Hot or Not (I'm not going to bother looking up his name) was hillarious. I don't the Hot or Not guy was expecting all that from Jeffery Ross. Everybody on the show was busting on that guy.
Posted by: fmowry
Jeff Ross is very funny. His roasts on Comedy Central have been very good too.

That show with Lorenzo Lamas was great. I loved how they gave everyone in the audience a laser pointer to shine at him....funny stuff. The show has found its footing. The tension when Lamas was out there was great...he took it really well. I will never ever watch Leno again unless there is a particular guest of interest. As far as Letterman is concerned, he still gets a half hour from me assuming I'm available.

Good point. If he's not I think that Vince Vaughn should be his permanent guest host as long as he can fill in.

Jimmy Kimmel is king of late night

Should be interesting to see how Mr. Agreeance does as co-host.
Posted by: Justin526
Mr. Agreeance has truly very little to say. Last night he said next to nothing at all, which I think is probably best.

I live in the Pacific time zone, and I got a rerun of an early episode last night (#6, with Snoop Dogg). Did Eastern and Central viewers get a new show, or was the live show canceled at the last minute due to the attacks?

rerun here in the midwest
