Another great episode!!!
Claudette really seems out to get Vic now... dont ya think?
The Money Train story arc should get really good.
Armadillo will be back next week!
I wonder who the new Strike Team member will be ... and will he last???
Mal--
Oh and ... I wonder what will happen "across the street" from Vics hotel room?

Great episode.
Well, unless they are promoting Julian (which seems unlikely) I'm guessing they will have to be introducing a new character. My question is though, where's Lemonhead and (the other guy I can't remember)?
I thought it was funny that Dutch said he lost $100 on the Raiders. That surely had to be coincidence, unless they did some last minute ADR trickery.
I also noticed that the scene at the end where Vic is getting the room looked different, just like the scene from last week in what's-his-name's apartment. Strange that in two episodes, each would have 1 scene filmed differently than the rest of the show.

What a good episode, the suspense about the bust where Shane was still there was awesome.. When Dutch said the raiders, I am pretty sure they just put that in during Post, the camera kinda panned left and didnt show him when he said it and it sounded off. I am wondering why they still hardly ever have all of the strike team in episodes together, couldn't be budget issues could it? I'd imagine they don't have to worry about that anymore.

I concur, this was another fantastic episode. The tension between Mackey and Aceveda is interesting. The side stories with Danny were good as well, but once again, where's Julian??? It seems like all the main characters managed to get some good face time in this episode *except* him. It would have been perfect to see how he's supporting his partner during this troubled time in her career.
The entire Claudette/Dutch subplot was great. But I'm sure everyone knows my opinion of CCH Pounder. :D

What was the deal with the dude burying dead animals? Is that some sort of bizzare fetish that exists in the real world?
Posted by: VegasVic
I wondered the same thing. I have never heard of anyone having a "thing" for burying animals. Weird...
They said the Money train runs every couple of months so that would set it up to happen again right near the end of this season... Except for one thing, now that all of the mob guys were busted wouldn't they change the logistics of the money train? I can't imagine that it would stay the same after all of the arrests that were made.
When the arrest went down Vic said once they were lawyered up phone calls would be made and all of the locations would change. That's when Aceveda raided the other sites and Vic and Shane checked out the money train.

I had wondered the same thing about the guy burying animals. I think he just has a thing for maintaining his own pet cemetary. The look on Danny's face when she saw his backyard was unforgettable. And here I thought the show's writers were finding a quick and easy way to get her a date.
The money train issue seemed a bit skimpy on information this time around. Obviously, they're going to use it again later in the season, most likely as part of the season finale. I'm interested to see where that goes.
Interesting to see how Shane's mugging in Tijuana came back to haunt him again. Someone even predicted that in a previous thread.

I was wondering where that would turn up. But what about the other guy's badge.
Yes another good episode, but next week's looks even better.
Some random thoughts:
- What did Aceveda expect when he got in bed with Mackey?
- Aceveda probably scored a few points with Danni when he defended her against the Arabs. She might think it is self interest, but could not hurt.
- I wonder what will happen with the Arab's wife. Very foreboding.
- New member of Strike team should be intriguing.
- Felt bad for Mackey at the end.

The way I saw it was ... when the guy <from the mob> was at the police station with Vic he was giving out all those locations. Then he says something like "this one is nothing but check it anyway." I just assumed that the "head" mob guy wouldnt think his guy would of said anything about the "money train" site. Plus they busted everyone in the mobs club and all these adresses were busted except the "money trains". They'll just assume that the cops dont know about it ... right? And leave it be.

Yes that's probably how it will play out. Just seems to me if there is a major bust, you don't keep doing business as usual with something that big.

And they busted the local operation...the Money Train is regional.

I found this episode less interesting the usual. Still great but somehow less interesting.
I was 100% convinced that Shane was going to be killed, all the stories about a strike team member being killed we have heard, and the way it was filmed just had me convinced. That was excellent TV.
I love the new relationship between Vic and Aceveda.
Lemonhead and Silent Bob are back next week.
Julian was in this episode though he did not do much of course.
T
PS. Can we try and avoid the spoilers about next weeks show in these threads unless they are marked. I make a special effort to avoid the clips from next week so hearing about them here can be frustrating.

The dead strike team member rumor has certainly enhanced the tension of the show for me...every time they go into action, I feel a genuine sense of danger that is usually missing (because titles-cast never die!)...

It was amusing that Shane's badge number was 714.

Especially with the new Dragnet coming out.

I'm missing something, what's significant about the number?

I assumed that the soccer coach that was "burying dead animals" actually is burying drugs/money that he is dealing to the kids. That's what I immediately thought when they showed him exchanging a package & money with the one kid. He says the kid gave him a dead hampster and he gave the kid money to buy a new one. That also fits in with the previews of next week's show.

It's Joe Friday's badge number.

714 is also the number on Quaalude tablets from the 70's.
If I have to explain what they are.............

Not to mention, Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs, which is apparently no coincidence.

Does that mean that Joe Friday took 'ludes?
