Queens Supreme & Presidio Med cancelled

Darnit! I must be out of step with mainstream America, because the networks keep cancelling the new shows I like! "Push, Nevada", "Firefly", now "Queens Supreme". I hope I haven't also cursed "Less Than Perfect" into an early grave. Ugh!

My Tivo still shows 2 new episodes of Queens Supreme on Fri 1/31 and Fri 1/7, but according to Yahoo News, the show is being pulled immediately in favor of reruns of "CSI," "CSI: Miami," "Without a Trace" and "48 Hours Investigates."

They canceled Queens Supreme! That show seemed ok.
Didn't they only show two episodes? With that short a run they must have decided to cancel it before it was aired; you can't expect resonable numbers for that short a run.

So if it was already going to be canceled, why show it at all, and why yank episodes that presumable are already shot?

Well wouldnt that be silly now, actually running a show for enough episodes for someone to start following it and perhaps...(gasp) actually liking it.

It was a good show...but I've already figured out that shows with good writing, interesting characters and a plotline dont cut it.

Give the masses brainless sitcoms with a dumb blonde daughter and someone from the 'Married with children" cast, or perhaps a 9th generation reality show with a bunch of transparent idiots and porn movie refugees. Now THATS quality television...

So far this year I've made the mistake of liking firefly, MD's and Queens Supreme. Should I take the fact that Boomtown has no upcoming episodes to be concerning?

I saw both episodes of Queens Supreme and they were ok, not as good as Oliver Platt’s other show Deadline that Bravo saw showing in the summer. I had a feeling it would be cancelled. The writing was weak IMO. Deadline was a great show though. How can networks be canceling shows after 2-3 episodes though? They are not giving shows a chance at all to gain an audience.
If Seinfeld were starting today the network would have never renewed it after its first short season that had mediocre rating. That is a scary thought!

Two things. Is Oliver Platt really as great as everyone thinks he is? I mean, for someone who is such a genius and pheonominal actor, he's bombed out a few TV shows, and the only 2 movies I remember him from was the One with Matthew Perry and Neve Campbell, and some other one which was on HBO late at night with him being a reported infiltrating Nazis.

Does he really deserve all the praise he gets?

Point 2. CBS has seemed to have taken up Fox's way of programming. Moving shows around to either random timeslots or runnning them against something pretty much unstoppable (West Wing) and then cancelling them mid season because they can't produce an audience.

WTF?
