Do you use the Tivo "sound Effects"?

Posted by: TIVO_GUY_HERE

I was watching a repeat of "King of Queens" last night, and one of the guys had a Tivo, that "beeped" I Totally forgot it did this, cuz I turned mine off the day I got it.

No. The one connected with optical audio doesn't bong by design. I disabled the sound with the ones connected directly to a TV recently at my children's request.

Actually my wife was the one who found the sounds annoying so in an attempt to appease her I turned them off.

A lot of people don't know that you can turn this sound off, or know you can yet are just that lazy.

I don't know why you would want any electronic item to beep when you go through the menus. Cell phone, tivo, people probably think tivo needs to make these sounds so they just don't touch them. What can you do?

I turned it off after 2 weeks, what a horrable noise in my opinion.

Doesn't bother me at all.

I only have a DirecTivo with Digital audio and have never heard the Tivo sounds. I can't really say that I like them or not.

I think the sounds enhance the experience. In fact, if my wife is holding the remote and she forgets to fast-forward when a commercail comes on, I remind her by saying, "ba-DIP ba-DIP ba-DIP."

Tivo without sounds is like pizza without anchovies! :D

Of course I keep it Low and my anchovies on the light-side.

after a real-life demonstration of the wonders of tivo (dad had missed something said in a news cast)...while he was completely thrilled that he could go back and hear what he missed...after doing this a couple more times throughuout the day...dad's comment was, "i like the sound that it makes!"

Sounds on Low for both of mine. I tried turning them off when we got the first, but the kids and the wife liked the "feedback".

Off for the T60 and Low for the DSR6000, that's because it's in another room with the remote extended by the pyramid thingies. To let me know that the remote button press worked.

I dig the tivo sounds.

I have them turned off, but I would turn them on again if they had a "Very Low" setting. But of course, this has been mentioned in previous polls.
