European Figure Skating Championships

This was to air from 4 PM Eastern to 6 PM Eastern today on ABC. The first 15 minutes were prempted by Peter Jennings and coverage of the Shuttle disaster. Then it said returning to the normal programming already in progress: The European Figure Skating Championships. But all I got for the rest of the two hours was a snowboarding and snow mobiling competition.

Did anyone get the skating championship? If so what happened? Or was this just a local screwup on our ABC channel. I wonder if they will rerun this in another time slot. I know that they are running the free skate over on ESPN this coming Thursday afternoon.

Out here on the West Coast, the news guys had run out of things to say before 3 PM and they went back to normal programming. We got the Xtreme games (started with snowboarding) at 3 PM and the skating from 4-6 PM as planned.

Nothing for me in Connecticut either. News then boys breaking bones doing silly things on the snow.

Maybe they'll rerun it at some point? And I have my Tivo set to tape another "Eurpoean Figure Skating Championships" airing They originally didn't put a description for either showing, but looking at it now (airing on Thursday 2/6 3-5pm on ESPN) it says ladies and men's free skate. I assume that yesterday was short programs, or maybe pairs and dance. A shame we don't get to see that...
