Looks to be starting tonight 8ET/7CT! So, if you hated this last season, watch it from the beginning...and what made you fall in love with Tony, Carmella, Paulie and the rest!

Already got it, thanks.

Just wondering. Their seems to be 52 episodes and they are showing one per week. Do you think they will start the next season before the reruns end ?

I'm actually excited about this. I only got DirecTV and HBO this summer, and I only saw part of the last season (and even then, it took me a while to get in the flow of it). By the end of the season, we were really liking it, and I was considering buying the DVDs so that we could see what came before.
But, with them on TiVo for free, no need to spend that money now. And the 1 show/week pace will keep us from binging. :)

I watched season four having just signed up for HBO last fall, but the wife didn't. We just got done watching all three seasons on DVD in two months (talk about binging) thanks to Netflix, and now we're in serious Sopranos withdrawal.
The numbers don't lie, but I hope it won't really be a year before season five starts!

I just got into the Sorprano's last year while watching the repeats of the previous season. I was glad to see that they were starting from the beginning so I could "catch up" on what I had miss.
The thing I found interesting about the first show was the way they went about introducing all the characters. Just like a book, you got a bit of background and information about everyone. At least everyone around at that time.
The other thing I thought that was interesting is that if I had never seen the show before I don't think I would have tuned back in. I know that sounds contradictory from my previous paragraph but I think it is true. I don't think I felt the "grip" that I get in watching a new show (like "24" or "Mr. Sterling").
I'll look forward to watching the rest of the episodes....and keeping track of Tony's hairline (g).

I think that the "grip" is hugely effected when you know about events that occur later in a show. The effect can be both positive and negative. It really changes what you see in a show, because when people watched for the first time they did not know about the future events.
I LMAO at the phillips head screw joke.

It was interesting to see things in the first ep. that were revisited in the last season (the church, mother-daughter tea in NYC, etc.)

To be honest, I watched the first two seasons without really getting into things. But then I watched the first episode of the
third season and got drawn in. That's the one about the placement of the lamp in the basement, BTW. What really hooked me was the music... the Peter Gunn Theme mixed with Every Breath You Take (can I get that somewhere, BTW?). Almost a year went by between the time that I netflix'ed the second and third seasons. I'm glad I did.

The first episode never grabbed me either. I rented the DVDs from netflix, watched the first episode, and set them aside for about 3 weeks. I finally came back to them, and got completely hooked. It was interesting to go back and watch the first episode, with the understanding I now have of the series. One of the elements that never clicked for me when I watched it the first time was why Visuvio was blown up.
IMO, seasons 1 and 3 are the best. 2 just seemed lacking somehow. (I haven't seen 4 yet)

It was a favor. If a mob hit had taken place then he would have a bad reputation and would lose all his business. But, if they blew it up, the insurance would pay off and he could open a new place without the stigma of a hit having taken place in his restaurant.

I believe it is on the second soundtrack album released...it's called Peppers and Eggs. There are several good songs on the CD so it's not a waste if you only want that song.
