Enterprise: Return of the Andorians

"Longtime Star Trek guest star Jeffrey Combs told the TrekWeb fan site that his Andorian character, Shran, gets more to do in an upcoming episode of UPN's Enterprise. Combs will reprise the blue-skinned alien in the February installment "Cease Fire."
"It's my fourth time back there, [and] they seem to have elevated my character," Combs told the site. "In the first one I was kind of a renegade leader of a not-so-merry band of rebels. And now it seems like I'm leading a bigger band of not-so-merry rebels. I'm more of a strategist looking over maps and negotiating across the table. It's almost like they've put epaulets on me or something. I'm sort of the commander in the field, as opposed to off on a raid somewhere. That's good; it gives me a little more stature."
In "Cease Fire," the Andorians and Vulcans battle it out over galactic rights to an entire planet, the site reported. "I don't know how much of the plot I'm allowed to give away, but it's sort of interesting," Combs said. "There's a planet that is in contention between the Vulcans and Andorians. The Andorians found it, we made it livable, and then the Vulcans claimed it and took it from us, because they claimed we were using it as a spy platform on the outskirts of their territory." Enterprise airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT."
While the franchise of ENTERPRISE has generally been up and down (usually according to the episode of the wee), I for one have easily enjoyed all the Andorian episodes. This mythology thread gets    from me.

Enterprise has been mostly down
(since Pan's not around, someone had to say it)
The problem is with the Andorian episodes is that they make the Andorians look good by making the Vulcans look like arses.
I really don't hold out a lot of hope for furture episodes, especially if they were written by Beavis and Butthead....

I have been generally pleased with ENTERPRISE. I also enjoy the Andorian episodes. It's true that the Vulcans have been out of character at times; but perhaps that is how Vulcans really are... at least 100 years before Kirk. I always thought the "perfect" Vulcans were kind of unrealistic.
I agree that ENTERPRISE could be much better, especially if the entire series were based on a "Birth of the Federation" story arc (like Babylon5), but considering who the producers are (Beavis and Butthead), the show has been very good. It is living up to the premise of what it is suppose to be... basically a remake of TOS set 100 years earlier.

Jeffrey Combs is awesome, the Andorian episode last season was one of the best Enterprise episodes so far, IMO, although that's not saying much.

Jeffrey Combs is awesome. I really digged him as Weyoun on DS9.

Sorry but I happen to think that's a load of horse hockey.
Enterprise is only 100 years before Kirk and Spock. Considering that the Vulcan lifespan is about 200 years or so, I find it difficult to believe that such radical behavioral change can happen in that time period.
(and let's not forget T'Pol's "what a mind meld?")
The handling of the Vulcans is just another symptom of weak writing. It's easy to write bad guys who are lying, arrogant SOBs. It's harder to write bad guys who are good people that are mistaken.
Every time the Andorians appear, it's a golden opportunity to show the beginnings of the Federation by having the humans be the bridge between the cool, logical Vulcans and the wildly emotional Andorians. But I suspect this may be asking too much from Beavis and Butthead's medicore writing skills....
