Hey folks, I have a problem which has been perplexing me the past few nights, and I am ready to throw myself out the window. Here goes.
I own a SAT-13 with Turbonet and have hacked my tivo before. I also have replaced my hard disk a few times, so I have been through the routine for getting a telnet prompt with versions 2.5 and 3.0 etc. What I have done with 3.0 is take my HD, and put it in my pc as primary slave, correct jumpers and all. I have downloaded the two floppy images used for 3.0 software turbonet install and booted with the linux boot floppy. When I put in the disk with the script and setup utilities, mount the drive and run the script, I get an error when it tries to mount patitions 4 and 7 and it aborts. Rembering from the old days with 2.5 I booted with a mfstoools 2.o cd and attempted to mount the drives, which would be hdb4 and hdb7. Each time I do, I get a mount successful, but immedialtly below that a line stating that I need to specify the file system. If I cd to the mount point /mnt4 for example, there is nothing listed when I do an ls. I even tried to do all of this with hdb9. If I am correct, I didn' t get this message all of the other times I did this. I am at a loss. If I put the drive back in my tivo, it boots up and starts cranking away with no problem. I even accidentally messed up and reimaged my drive with a SA backup of 3.0 from 9thtee, and tried the process again. I have run qunlock, and everything under the sun as far as I know to get to the partitions. Could anybody please help me? Thanks in advance.
Mike

I think I had your problem today also. If you read the entire post on the top "3.0 Ethernet HowTos" I think it describes what is happening. I used the software mentioned from silicondust and it worked fine. 25mb download though. And I had to do it with dialup. You also need a CD burner.
