I want to connect the tivo to my network, questions are:

1. I'm assuming I can either play pc files via tivo, or watch tivo shows on the pc. Is either of these possible? I really want a 'gateway' machine to link my lan to my av equipment, i may just get a laptop, but that is $$.

2. Do i need to upgrade to the series 2 with usb, so I can stick a usb wireless adapter on, or is there an option with the series1

I tried to research this by reading other posts, there is just so much information out here ! Any help appreciated.
