I could of swore that <guy> was going to spill the beans on Sherry in the end. Glad to see the Pres. is stepping up and breaking 'some' rules!!! I really like his character and 'his job of acting too'.
Marie looks as though she'll be a force to be reckoned with .. wouldn't ya say.
Where is and what is up with Nina?
AND AS USUAL...
Kim was just 'TIME FILL' and running and running and running....
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh!!!
Posted by: Vox Acerbus
how many men would so easily sleep with a chick who walked in off the street, a total stranger, who asked a favor? marie isn't all that, and even if she were, the diseases alone make such a proposition seem ludicrous. maybe in a bar, if she hits on you and you're drunk. i could see it.
but off the street, to your office, a seedy looking girl with a face that is plain at best, and homely in my opinion... she says she wants something. you say no. she offers favors.
that is so contrived and just screams AIDS, herpes, or whatever else you can get. it's like the writers can't write a real situation so let's throw some t&a in there (no matter how unattractive the whole deal may be) and that'll get us where we wanna be with the plot.
very disappointing this season.
Posted by: scottjf8
Honestly, you cant say that she did anything with him.... most likely, i'm thinking that she put the gun to his head and said, give me the keys, or i'll kill you.
Posted by: cheerdude
Good episode...not as great as the previous hour.. but it kept the story moving.
Of course, we can only hope that Kim is Cougar Chow soon.
Seems like that did a better job with dusk/night than they did with the last season.
Next week looks good...
PS - Is having pants that are 3 inches too short that noticeable for a Muslim?
Posted by: Vox Acerbus
...if she'd put a gun to his head, the moment she left he'd be on the phone with a description of her to the cops. too risky, i think. i appreciate twists in the 24 plot as much as anyone but i don't see pointers to anything BUT the obvious happening in that office...

I have to admit, Kim used to annoy me mightily, but now it's almost amusing--"The Perils of Kimline"!
As for Marie, homely?!? Good God, I want to live where you live. Here on Earth, well, if she walked up to me and asked for sex, I doubt I'd be thinking about anything but how 42 years of bad luck just ended in a really big way!
Posted by: Maui
Good episode.
The Kim segments were so bad they were laughable.
Posted by: Vox Acerbus
mg, something about the thin lips and the freckles all over her face combined with the wispy flat hair just says ick to me. not my type i guess.
Posted by: Dignan
Marie has a Jennie Garth quality to her. I think the forman got some, um, manual action, okay, no diseases.
As for Kim, I was doing some Mystery Science Theater action for my wife, "Help, can someone find my plot? Help?". I think having her bounce around the mountains for a while is so stupid it is funny. This must have been when she was actually bit by the mountain lion.
I think this season has been really good. I'm just so glad we don't have to see Terri Bauer anymore, I think something needs to happen to Ms. President.
Posted by: bobjohnson
I have to say, I was surprised with the Kim story line. I honestly thought that the mountain lion was going to be inches from her throat, maybe mangle her a little bit, and then at the last minute, a hunter would shoot the mountain lion. The animal just losing interest and leaving makes too much sense for it to happen to Kim.
Of course, her being in the situation is utterly ridiculous to begin with. I suppose watching her for two seasons has totally desensitized me to the absolutely absurd.

I assumed Marie gave a little oral action. Not sure how I came to that conclusion, now that I think about it. Probably just wishful thinking on my part. :o

I came to the same conclusion.

Does anybody think that their decision to wait the 17 minutes till the prayer was over was a little stupid? What if the bomb was setup to go off during prayer or directly after it? Seems to me to make more sense to rush the mosque and take him out.
Posted by: MalachiNY
I think I can refute the fact that Marie used a gun to get into the locker. In one of those Tri-Screen shots ... she was cleaning out the locker and as she was leaving she passed by a 'smiling' Marco's Boss!! Oral (or other) was definitely used!
I also have to agree w/ Medievil Guy on Marie not be that bad lookin' ... although Kate is far and away the better lookin' sister!!!
The file that Almeda gave Bob W. ... is that a file on Marie? If so, I take it that its not good.
I must say if thats so, CTU made a big mistake. You would think that backgroud checks on all Reza's & Bob's family, friends & co-workers would be automatic.
Mason was pretty non-existant in this one too. You think for guy whos dieing he would get more air time. I'm mean its the least the networks could do! Dont ya think?
Hehehehe!!!
Posted by: philw1776
Finally, we may get to see Kim in a catfight!
Posted by: Vox Acerbus
i think no focus on mason is because he's dying and they would have to stretch it out longer and longer and make him obviously weaker after each ep. where he's featured. wow guess i'm in the minority, neither sister is remotely attractive to me. in fact, they're types i would kick out of bed (tho kate was prettier in last nights ep. once she covered up her hair and stopped talking for awhile. the 5y/o question asking nosiness of her bugs me. i'm more of a catherine zeta jones type.

Jack addressed this in the episode when he stated that they couldn't rush the mosque because getting through the crowd would slow them down giving the terrorist time to kill himself. Don't forget that Kate is the only one who has any idea what he looks like.

I'm guessing the file was just the evidence pertaining to her being the only one to leave the office building after the murders.
And I agree that the locker keys were obtained via oral means. As for this being realistic, I certainly think so. Sort of funny that both seasons have featured a character exchanging some form of sex for a favor.

Mike
Well, in 20-20 hindsight the terrorist DID have enough time to kill himself. In fact even after waiting (a stupid move, I agree) the terrorist STILL had time to grab someone else, change the guy's clothes, kill HIM and escape.
I love 24 but twists just for the sake of twisting are twitty.

Marie looks better with her black wig.
I thought the ep was a little slow and where exactly has the bad guy gone since he did not leave.
I cannot believe the writers would put the Kim scene in knowing all the fun being made of her story line, perhaps they put it in to make us realize the previous storyline with her really wasn't that bad (compared to this that is). I actually FF through those scenes.
President's wife is annoying me.
We really did not learn too much though I am now suspicous of the President's other male assistant. He was way to keen on getting Roger tortured.

i'm shocked they've got kim tethered now. how will she RUN??? no more bouncy??? for how long???

One of the last people out of the mosque was a suspiciously large woman...at the time, I thought "Hmm..."
Posted by: DLiquid
When Kim was running around the forest, I joked, "What now, a wolf?" A minute later, the mountain lion showed up. Yes, it's so ridiculous it's comical, but at the same time this is a decent show so I'm surprised at the lame Kim storyline. At least last year the Kim stuff was related to the main plot. This year it's completely unnecessary.
Does anyone else see the hints at romance between Jack and skinny sister?

Well, that doesn't exactly narrow it down, but I assume you mean good skinny sister...I figured they'd hook up eventually since the first episode. TV shows can't let lead actors go without romantic entanglements, and she's always been the obvious candidate.

Yes. LOL, I guess you're right. But right before she changed into the Muslim garb, she was looking frighteningly thin in some of the shots of her in those pants.
I agree with your theory about bad guy dressing as a woman to escape. It seemed so obvious it was hard to swallow that Jack wouldn't have suspected it.
Posted by: philw1776
Yah, the terrorist dressing as a woman was my reaction too. Obvious. Perhaps we'll find out that's how he escaped.
As to the important issue of the sisters, looks like BOTH Jack & the non-bride sister got thinner. She's still a semi-babe in my book. And I think that the bride sister is hotter as a brunette but then I like brunettes. Now, where's that key to the locker?
As to Palmer's wife. She is the most annoying person; worse than Teri Bauer last year. PLEASE have her meet a bad end. And soon. Every episode that her Pres husband tolerates her, I lose it for his character. I was happy to see him finally show some and hang up on her. Don't let the script witers emasculate this cool Commander-in-Chief.
-phil (looking forward to Kim's "catfight")

Would you all be happy if Kim escapes the mountain lion, only to run into a bunch of pr0n actors shooting a movie in the hills? :)
Posted by: pmyers
I really did expect a "hunter" to shoot it just as it was in mid-air.
Posted by: justapixel
Does anybody but me think Kim will try and chew her own leg off to get out of that trap?
:D
Parts of the storyline are a bit foolish this year, but I still love the show. It does seem that Jack is getting involved with the "good" sister - he clearly defended her when he got the phone call warning about her, which I don't think a guy in his position wold do. But, is she really good?
It was obvious that the bad guy might have dressed in as a muslim woman to escape, but nobody thought to check? I don't Jack would have overlooked that.
I'm curious to know what Palmer's wife is going to do next. The secretary (is she the president's secretary) seems to be a threat to her..

Reviving an earlier sub-thread, I have to say that IMHO Michelle Dressler (Tony Almeida's love interest) beats out the Warner sisters as *the* most stunning woman on the show!
On another note, is it bothering anyone else how loose-lipped Jack has been about this nuclear threat? First he tells his oh-so-discreet daughter OVER A CELL PHONE, and then this week he gives Kate Warner the info after maybe 20 seconds of prodding?!? Sheesh.

Oh By Far!!!!
She is one fine fine fine woman!!!

Everyone keeps saying that it was obvious that Sayeed would dress as a woman to escape. However nobody was aware that he knew they were outside, only Kate might have known and she was too spooked to be sure.

The whole Kim line is annoying, almost to the point of me abandoning the show. I told my wife, "watch...she'll meet a mountain lion..." It took about 10 seconds for it to show up. Extremely predictable compared to the other twists. Did anyone notice the "trap" was nothing more than a simple loop of cable? She just made some feeble attempts to pull it off when it actually looked like it was going to fall off on its own if she let go of it!
I don't trust the president's bald assistant (I forgot his name...Mike?).
Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
I was assuming they catch Sayeed next episode given the scenes from next week's episode. Doesn't anyone else watch those?

Well duh. The purpose of those traps are to catch dumb animals without the cognitive awareness to simply loosen the wire and extract the caught foot. :)
Posted by: Maui
I could see fumbling with the trap with a mountain lion staring you down but the end of the epiosde just showed her sitting there like there was nothing else she could do.
Posted by: Rob Helmerichs
Well, she'd already thought of fumbling with the trap...maybe she blew a fuse!

The answer to the Kim quandry:
In animals, different body parts require different areas of the brain to run their somatic systems. The more different areas, the more brain cells and resources required. It's readily apparent to the viewer that in Kim's case two apppendages are utilizing most of her brain capacity. Therefore the lack of cognitive awareness to losen the noose.

Another thing I noticed: at the beginning (6 pm), the sun was pretty high up (by looking at people's shadow), yet near the end of the mosque raid (7pm), it was almost dark.
I know, I know. I need to find better things to do.

Any dummy raised in California (or anyplace else with cougers) knows that you do not run in the presence of a couger, it only makes you look more like prey. You do the ole alpha male primate display by raising your arms, yelling and jumping around. To a couger a human looks bigger than he or she actually is because of the height difference caused by standing up. Spreading your arms makes you look wider. The best bet is to go still and let the couger go away. Only a really really hungry couger would attack an adult human.
Posted by: allan
I admit Kim & the Cougar is a waste of time, but at least Kim isn't talking! That's always a plus.
Posted by: bobjohnson
Here's what I think will happen next ep:
The mountain lion will come back, and Kim will start screaming. The mountain lion will then proceed to free Kim from the trap and say "Why are you afraid of me?" Then they'll pair up and search for babykim (what's the kids name? The one with the horrible bleach job just like kim). Their search will be ended prematurely however, when Kim and the Mountain Lion are arrested in a sting that catches the mountain lion soliciting prostitution.

My thoughts, too. Remember, the President moved on to torture at his suggestion.

Wow. Just read this thread, and I have to conclude that, a) you guys are the worst bunch of nit-pickers ever, and b) you have insanely unrealistic expectations about what constitutes a "good looking" woman. Or, you have no taste at all when it comes to women.
And, cougars/mountain lions almost never attack humans, except in rare instances where they mistake them for prey. In fact, running into a mountain lion is extremely rare, as they avoid humans. Once the mountain lion knew that Kim was an adult human, the chances of it attacking her were remote in the extreme. Of course, she probably did not know that.

Hence, adding to the absurdity of the Kim story line.

Maybe the writers think that the viewing public are as ignorant of the habits of mountain lions as Kim is. And they would not be wrong, either.
For the record, I have known people who have encountered mountain lions in California, in a manner similar to Kim's in the show. It is just extremely rare. It is not impossible.

Every year there is a story in the paper about some jogger getting killed by a mountain lion in my area. It's rare, yes, but cougars see running and they will attack and it's hardly an unknown happening.
Now, all we have to do is hope that is Kim's fate.

Michelle is certainly the best looking to date. And while I would kick Kate out of bed, I absolutely would keep Marie around. That is one lucky foreman. Those freckles are adorable.
I'm counting the days until Shari is swinging on the gallows pole.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....if there is a god, the mountain lion will come back and eat that stupid bitch.
