Stuck in "preparing to call" - please help

Hi.
I've read all the FAQs on Tivo.com and in all of the forums here. I am at my wits end with this problem.
A few weeks ago, I upgraded my standalone Phillips Tivo using two 80 GB HDs from Weaknees.com. Installation was simple (20 minutes) and afterwards, everything was beautiful. After going through Guided Setup, I had 200 hours of storage. Life was good for a few weeks.
Then we moved to a new house (11 miles away). I connected Tivo to my DSS receiver and TV and everything was fine (I was able to watch previously recorded shows and live TV etc), but I had to go through Guided Setup again to change some settings (new zip code, new local phone number, etc.)
I get all the way through Guided setup (the progress bar is all the way full), but it's stuck in the "Connecting" step and the status just says "preparing to call". It has been stuck like this for over a day.
Here's what I've tried:
- unplugging the Tivo for various intervals (a few minutes, an hour, a day, etc.) and restarting. On power up, I end up back in Guided Setup and go through the entire process only to end up stuck in "preparing to call" in the second call it makes.
- checking all wires, phone connections, and settings. I even ordered an external modem from weaknees.com (should arrive today). In my heart, I feel this is likely an act of desperation, since the test calls and the first call in guided setup works just fine.
I don't know what else to do at this point. I'm limited to rebooting and hoping I can make some changes in the Guided Setup process that will make a difference in the second call, but it never does.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks!
J

check to see if the phone company gave you call waiting or something like that. if not go into phone setup in the tivo and make sure its set right.
