Upgraded my Tivo Series II (40 hrs) with a Maxtor 80GB 5400rpm and a 120 GB 7200rpm. Previously the temps were in the upper 30s C(36-38 C) Now it run to 38-41C (stated as normal on my 4.0 software). I did notice during the upgrade that the 80GB was much cooler than the 120Gb to the touch.
I may still swap the 120GB 7200rpm drive for a Samsung but for the time being I am just monitoring.
