I appreciate your response. However, I thought I was pretty clear that I need a tivo for CABLE. I repeat I need a tivo for CABLE. All of your suggestions pertained to cost effective solutions for satelite. Furthermore, I don't mind purchasing used equipment (i.e. Series 1) and upgrading/hacking it in order to get into the game if it is worth it. That is why I am asking the questions in this forum.
