How to get Tivo to recognize WiFi adaptor?

This is a newbie question. I have Tivo version 2, 40 GB version. I want to hook this into my WiFi network using my Linksys USB WiFi adaptor so I can ditch the phone line strewn across my living room.

The USB adaptor works great on my computer. I plugged it into the TiVo but I don't know what to do next. There is zero documentation regarding this on the website, other than signing up for the HMO.

I disconnected the phone line and in the system status it says "failed to connect".

I tried to access the "Tivo Central Online" section of the Tivo website, were allegedly there are some instructions, but it won't accept my TiVo serial number for some reason. Of course you need that to access the site. Now I'm just frustrated.

Somehow I need to get Tivo to recognize the WiFi, get an IP address (I'm running DHCP) and go do it's thing on the internet.

Any ideas?
