Didn't this TiVo used to work with another TV okay? It might be the TiVo, or it might be some weird interaction between the TiVo and the current TV. If you still have the other TV I'd try the TiVo on that before doing anything else.
You can call TiVo about repairs (unless it's an AT&T or Sony TiVo, then you have to them), it runs a minimum of $100 plus shipping both ways.
