Philips 20HR 2.5 Manual Recording not working

I have a philips 20HR with 2.5 running on it. This unit had a sub untill last summer. Now I just want to use it to MANUAL record.

I was getting the NAG screen requesting a "call home" so I plugged in the phone line and made the call. Now every time I try to do something I get a nag message that states I need to get a sub.

This unit came with 1.3 on it and was upgraded to 2.0 then 2.5 with service.

My understanding is that I _WOULD_ be able to do this.
