Tivo shareware programs?

Would it be difficult for someone to signup as a develop and download a SDK?

I'd like for someone to batch archiving to VHS tape and other goodies like reprogramming the remotes. I wouldn't mind paying $15-20/each for useful programs.

The sense I got was that something like what you suggest is the idea behind opening up the software so you may well see something similar.

I'd probably pay some bucks for an automatic commercial skip software but I'm not sure if you'll be able to go that deep.
