Alternate boot partition question
My Tivo boots from partition 4, I don’t have a partition 7, however it looks like I have a partition 9. The contents of this partition look much like what is in partition 4. Is this possible?
If this is truly my alternate boot partition, is there a way I can copy the entire partition from 4 to 9 since I have not been updating the backup partition as I went along (xcopy type of thing?). Is this a bad idea?
Thanks
You won't have anything on the alternate partition until you go through an upgrade of the software, such as 1.3 to 2.0 or 2.5.1. Have you done that yet?
I am currently running 2.5.1. I am not sure what version the Tivo came with and if any upgrade ever ran.
