Thumbs down A problem i see with HMO Remote Scheduling

I have HMO. It's ok, probably should have been free like with Replay TV. The problem i see with remote scheduling is the fact that it only recieves your request when your Tivo connects to the Tivo service. Sometimes that's 2 days! Is there a way to set your tivo to connect to the Tivo service more often? Otherwise you really can't do short notice scheduling.

Tony

nevermind

I didn't see this before.

"A DVR that is set to make a connection to the TiVo service using a broadband connection will check for new scheduling requests several times an hour."

Nevermind!

something's wrong. My Tivo checks for updates every 30 minutes or so. Are you on a broadband connection?

From the FAQ:

Can I schedule a recording for a program that is on today?

With an always-on Internet connection (cable modem, DSL, ISDN, etc.), you can schedule recordings as little as two hours before they air.*

My experience has been that recordings are generally scheduled within 30 -45 minutes.

Yes i'm on broadband. I scheduled something less than an hour ago it it already worked. Maybe it was different before i had HMO, but i know when i would look at the status it would give last successful attempt and next sheduled attempt, and it would sometimes be up to 2 days. Maybe once you have HMO it does it every 30 minutes?

The status you see is the regular guide data connection, which is every day or two. The Tivo pings the mothership every 15 minutes for remote scheduling updates.
