Support for manual connections has been implemented and is being tested. Also the cinema listings now show all of the theatres.

We hope to implement all of the features provided by TiVo Desktop Publisher but not yet by JavaHMO by the next release:
http://javahmo.sourceforge.net/todos.html

We dont have a release date yet for the next release, but it should not be long since most of these features have been implemented.

I put Javaws into the startup area. I figured I also needed to use javaws to open the JavaHMO file as part of startup but that doesn't seem to work.

I'm really just guessing at everything, has anyone got this working on Win98?

Thanks!

Yep, mine runs on Win98 with no problems. A couple changes were necessary to make it run. Had to make the DOS environment larger and copy run.cmd to run.bat. I put a shortcut to run.bat in the startup folder and that's all.

That all seems to be working but....

I can't get to the configure screen in any web browser, I go to 127.0.0.1/configure and get page not found.

So I've done all my configuring by editing the configure.xml file by hand.

Not yet. Sofar we've rather extracted the data from web sites and then displayed them in a format better suited for TV resolution. Simply displaying a web page directly will be make the fonts unreadable on the low resolution of a TV screen. We have plans for showing more internet data in the future:

JavaHMO currently uses a Java package called HttpUnit to download and parse web pages (http://httpunit.sourceforge.net)

Downloaded and installed this last night. Thanks for your efforts.

Questions to anyone -

I have the following image on the internet which I find useful being from Atlanta:

http://www.georgia-navigator.com/im...tl_metro_cs.png

Any other good ones?

Lastly, while I found the game interesting, is there a way to suppress it and other items (like playlists) from showing up if you never use them?

The next version will have an option to disable modules using the configuration GUI.

I am having some trouble adding images. I can add a path to a .jpg if it is local (ie c but it doesn't seem to work if I have a path to a network drive.

Also, is there any way to add folders so all images in the folder get added ?

Use the Images menu option in the configuration GUI to add folders of images. Or you can edit the configuration file directly by using the imageFolder element. See http://javahmo.sourceforge.net/documentation.html for examples.
If you still have trouble send me a copy of your configuration file.

I sent an email to address you list in you sig. I have also tried editing the configure.xml and adding

<imageFolder name="Images" url="P:/2003/Disney"/>

When I go to images I get a screen saying there are none.

Question Any War file?

javaHMO Developers,

Did anyone tried packaging it on a war file? Reason I asked is I'm already running a server and I just want to deploy it as such. Just trying to conserve memory. Thanks.

JavaHMO includes the Jetty web server and servlet engine. It currently is not designed to be run inside another server.

You can file a feature request on the Sourceforce site for the project.

javaHMO rocks! got it working last night.

i have a couple questions:

1) the movie times option only shows one chain of movie theaters (AMC) in my area. is this by design or a glitch on my end? my zip code is 90077 (los angeles) and there are lots of other chains around (Mann, Pacific Theaters, etc)

2) will there ever be support for passing song title information on shoutcast? not sure if that's a shoutcast limitation or javahmo limitation.

anyway, thanks for a great program!

1) Version 1.0 only loaded the first page of listings for your zip from movies.com. The next version will list all theatres.
2) This is a TiVo limitation. There is no way to dynamically update the song title once the shoutcast stream is playing.
