60 gig or 80 gig for DirTiVo upgrade?

In looking around at the usual TiVo upgrade sites, it seems that most are going with a 80 gig drive as the second drive for a DirecTiVo upgrade. However CNET claims that a faster 60 gig drive is preferable to the 80 for performance reasons. Does anyone have any comments on this?

I'd look at a 60 just for the cost difference. $60+ for 20 more gigs is pretty high. www.pricewatch.com Stick with a 5400 rpm drive. You don't need the extra heat or wear. IMO

ElectricLegs is right - stick with the 5400 RPM drives (I prefer the maxtor) any faster is a waste on Tivo. This is strictly a price issue - I just put an 80 GB drive in my T60. I got it from DELL for $180 shipped. A little while back SAMs club had 60GB drives for $85. Right now frys has the same drive for $108. Just look at some of the deals sites (forums.anandtech.com) and dont be afriad to do the pricematch staples coupon combo.

Note that you should check all 3 as all vendors do not use all of these. Then before you buy make a stop at http://www.resellerratings.com to checkout the experiences of others with the vendor you are looking at.
