I'm pretty sure you can do that. You just won't have access to any "TiVo" features beyond the live buffer.
If you are getting DirecTV when you move anyway, there's no reason not to give it a shot.
Then again, unless you are only moving across the street, how well your OTA antenna works at your old house may not be that predictive of how well it will work at your new house. Geography can have a major impact on reception even between fairly close locations.
