Talking backup with Dylans boot disk

I am using Dylans boot disk with a HDR112 model backing up to a 30 Gig Western Digital Drive.
I enter "dd if=/dev/hdc of=/dev/hdd bs=32k"
and I get, within a few seconds:
312+1 records in
312+1 records out

Please Help!!

Thanks,
I ran the utility. I think that my bios doesnt like the size of the backup drive. Is it ok to turn off automatic hard drive detection in bios (to None)? Can't Linux bypass the bios for hard drive information?
