 Is there a no nag hack?

Am thinking my best solution is to buy a Series 2 from TiVo and move my lifetime service to it. My Series 1 has a 120GB drive and would work great for routine stuff. I've heard about but not experienced the "nag" screens. My searches of this forum have resulted in no useful hits.

1). Can I make my Series 1 into a friendly unsubscribed recorder?

2). Any hacks to allow an unscribed Series 1 to share programs with a Series 2 HMO style?

Any help in pointing me towards the solution would be appreciated!

I have been using my unsubed Philips SA as a manual recorder, setting start/stop times and channel. No problemo.
