Question Tivoweb Channel Remap

I have downloaded and installed Tivoweb without any problems, it works great. However, I have been unable to get the Channel Map module at http://tivo.lightn.org/channelmap.itcl.gz to work at all. I have tried to install the .gz and have also attemped to get it to run without the .gz at the end by simply renaming it channelmap.itcl. Neither worked. I am not sure how to get this sucker to work and there's no real instructions that I can find to get it to work. I've got other modules working but this is the one I really want!

Thanks for the help in advance.

Adam

.gz is the standard suffix for a file compressed with the "gzip" program. Run "gunzip channelmap.itcl.gz" to get the uncompressed channelmap.itcl file.

I believe you're also supposed to rename it to ChannelMap.itcl when installing it. (The file system is case sensitive.)

You have to unzip it and install it as "ChannelMap.itcl" in the modules directory. The name/capitalization is important only for the save/restore function to work. Thats a bug, the name really shouldn't be hard coded.

Its really impossible to tell what problem you are having given the lack of information. Does it load? Do you get the ChannelMap link in the tivoweb header? Does it come up but doesn't change the mapping when you tell it to? Does it generate a tcl error?

Thanks for the help, guys. I finally have it working. Turns out it was not actually a .gz file but the itcl instead. I just put the itcl in the /var/bin/hack/tivoweb-tcl/modules folder and it worked great.

I am having an odd problem, though. I have remapped the channels and it is working pretty well, except is has trouble entering in one (and only one ) of the three digit codes required to change one of the channels to. Oddly, it can reach everything else in the range but appears never to hit the last number. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Thanks.

Adam

where is the tivoweb log found? I'd look at it if I knew where it is. The channel remap semi-works as it does generate some errors. I will post that info when I'm next home.

You have to either modify the tivoweb shell script to write the output somewhere, or start tivoweb from bash with "tivoweb console"
