Thumbs up New Tivo/DVD-R Combo Box

Did anyone notice the comment on Tech Live about the new Tivo with integrated DVD recorder coming out later this year?
I wonder if they will also do it with the Directv Receiver with Tivo?
It would be even more cool to have satellite box/Tivo and DVD recorder all in one box.

Toshiba box, SA TiVo, not DirecTivo. Shown (prototype) at CES2003 in January.

Even so, the next logical step would be a Directivo version.

A 3 in 1 box would be ideal, then a 3 in 1 box with HDTV/HDDVD recorder years down the road.

Woah.. Is this the replacement for the RD-X2?

I presume you mean they'll allow recording to the hard drive via normal Tivo UI, then dub to DVD-R?

But no editing, like you can do on the Panasonic DMR-HS2, and Toshiba RD-X2 (which are programmed similarly to a VCR -- I don't have either -- yet), right?
