D/FW folks: Want to go in on some DVD-R(W) media?

Calling all within the Dallas/Ft,. Worth sphere of influence:

Is anyone willing to get in on part of a big purchase of some DVD-R(W) media? Most of the good deals are for 100 pieces or more, but I don't need that many. I figured that, if a few of us go in on a group buy, we could get a good deal and deliver via CTAM* or the like.

Anyone interested? My wish list, from most-wished-for to least:

1. DVD-RW (25 pieces or less)
2. DVD-R 4X Pioneer A05 compatible (50 pieces or less)
3. DVD-R 1X generic and cheap (50 pieces or less)

Anyone?

* CTAM = Chevy Truck Access Method

I'm going to need to purchase some media for my wife's Mac soon; I'm not in the area, but if you get a good enough deal on a large quantity, I'd be willing to pay for shipping.

I just bought a bunch, so I'm probably not ready yet. I've also switched to buying inkjet printable and it's a bit more.

Is your wishlist what you need out of the purchase? What do you need 25 RW disks for?

I was getting the DVD-RW for backups and other "transient" stuff.

Yes, my wishlist is what I need out of the purchase.

How do those inkjet printable jobbies work? Do you have to have a special printer?

Yeah, kinda.

I've got an Epson Photo 960 which has a CD/DVD attachment tray. You can't print on them with a regular printer (that doesn't have an attachment). I think the 960 is the only "normal" printer that has an attachment option, though I'd suspect more will be having that.

I'm afraid I'm not ready to buy some now, but if you just need a few -Rs right now to get you by I could give you some at lunch on Thursday.

I've got ACCUs (not printable) that have worked 100% for me in my Sony drive.

I could also show you what the printable ones look like. It basically just looks like a white label that's already on the disc.

That Epson looks pretty nice. I also like the one they're coming out with in May that just does photos and CD/DVD; only $199 retail!

On a side note: what's with this 6 color system? Is this in common use now? Sounds like a definite way to take the razor blade analogy to a whole new high.

Bryan, actually what I was hoping to get was either the DVD-RWs or the 4X DVD-R; I've got about 40 or 50 1X DVD-R right now, so I'm good on them. I do appreciate the offer, though!

I buy the ink-jet printables because I like the white top instead of the silver...I dont' have a printer that will print on them (have the Epson Photo 825), but might be getting one soon...

I just bought a 15 ct spindle of DVD-R a week ago, but my partner is going through them at a decent clip. I'll check when I get home if he wants to go in with y'all for a better deal.

Brad, we have the same recorder drive (Cendyne A105/Pioneer A05). Harry says he might go as high as 50 pieces for just DVD-R, depending on timing and pricing. The RWs don't play in our progressive scan player (bummer!).
