Help me find a small DVD player

I have a space about 10 inches wide for a DVD player...I've seen some that are the form factor of a 5.25" drive and go deep...I'm looking for a recommendation for something like that...it's going to sit next to my new Hughes HDVR2 on a shelf under the TV...so it needs to be narrow...

Anyone have such a beast? or want to recommend one?

This is not exactly what you asked for, but its vertical form factor should work great in the ten inch space you have available. Unfortunately, it's pre-order only right now:

Sony makes some really tiny ones. Probably about 7 inches round in weird colors (you might find a silver one that would work ok.

Apex players are about the smallest standard form factor ones you'll find.

I have a neighbor who I've been trying to convince needs a DVD player. I've had my eye on this one for a while:

It's small, looks cool IMO, and plays CD-R and CD-RW.

Not what you want to hear but....

Lately I've been running cords out of my portable player for my kid to use in his bedroom. Roughly 6x6x2 and even has a remote control. Pro'ly a lot more expensive than you're looking for, but hey, it's portable!

I think this is pretty cool looking. It is about 8.5 inches square.

Satchel, you'll probably have to go with one of the portable models. Just tell your wife you can take it to the lakehouse with you when you go to Tyler. My little Mintek is around 13 inches wide and stacks with my TV/VCR combo in my home office.

Lake Tyler East or West? We used to go skiing there every weekend over the summer when I was a kid...Oh how I miss kneeboarding and skiing...

Go to walmart and get an Initial portable dvd player for $180, you won't be sorry and you can take it anywhere!

Also at walmart is the APEX 1200, reads everything and is the cheapest one there. Excellent qual for an excellent price.
