Is this a feature?

Well, I'm back to TiVo after a disappointing round with ReplayTV.

I have a new Series2 in which I replaced the "A" drive with a larger drive. Everything seems normal, I have full functionality with all of my expected capacity.

But what about this?

When I press the TiVo button, I get the menu (as expected), but it is overlaid over the top of the channel that I was just watching. In other words, the backround is no longer the colored ones.

This seems like it would be a good idea to allow you to continue what you're watching while navigating the menu system, but I don't like it.

Is this intentional or a buggy upgrade on my part? Can this be changed?

Thanks,

Dan

You didn't read the How-to properly. You need slightly different backup options to make a working backup on that model.

Those the backup options for a normal TiVo. You need to add something like -f 4138 for your TiVo.

Read Hinsdale.
