Question XP drive into a Tivo Drive

I am trying to turn an old XP drive into a Tivo Drive. The drive is a 20 GB fireball. In mfs 2.0 tools it shows the correct size. I have tried to restore a Philips 212 image. I get “Restore Failed: First Target Drive Too Small”. Do I need a bigger drive or is something wrong?
What kind of partitions or file system should be on the drive before restoring the image? Do I need to worry about the XP signature on the drive? If so how do I remove it?

Without having any more details for your setup, I'll guess that the problem is exactly what it is telling you ... the 20GB HD is too small, or more specifically, smaller than the source drive. Buy a bigger hard drive, or add it as a "B" drive.

I had the same problem when trying to restore a DSR6000 image from a Quantum Fireball 40GB drive to a Seagate 40GB drive. The Quantum was larger than the Seagate. If I recall correctly, the Philips 212 came with a Quantum Fireball 20GB so I am guessing you have a different and smaller 20GB drive.

If the drive is just a little bit smaller than the original, then reduce -s a bit to shrink the swap partition. The original swap partition is 64Mb, so -s 54 will shrink the image by 10Mb.
