Pioneer recently released a 'universal' DVD player that does both high resolution music formats including DVD-A & SACD. The player retails at best buy for $180.00

With this being the case, it makes me think that with what the MSRP is on the Pioneer Elite DVR-57H & DVR-810H it should also have these features.

Still the press release made no mention, so i'm a bit worried. I don't want to spend $1800 on a product that doesn't handle every current DVD format. My goal is to minimize the ammount of equipment in my entertainment center.

Who else feels this is an important concern?

This thread has been up for a few days now and i'm surprised that so few people have looked at it, let alone no one has made a comment. I would think that if one cares about their TiVo enough to visit this board, they would also be interested in other related consumer electronics. I know i've been waiting for a TiVo + DVD burner to come along as the time for me to take the plunge so i'm super excited about the product. But the idea of purchasing a DVD player/burner that can't handle tomorrows prerecorded music formats would be a huge mark against the product, especially at these prices, at least for me....
